The form provides the basis upon which Townsville Hospital and Health Service (THHS) will approve External Researchers and sets out the requirements and conditions that External Researchers must meet in order to access THHS facilities, infrastructure and resources.
External Researchers must remain aware of, and comply with, all relevant THHS and Queensland Health policies, procedures and guidelines while engaged as an External Researcher.
Approval as an External Researcher does not include access to identifiable or potentially-re-identifiable confidential health information. Access to this information requires written consent of the person the information relates to or approval under the Public Health Act 2005 (Qld).
External Researchers must conduct research according to the principles of the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) National Statement on the Ethical Conduct in Human Research (2023), the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research, and Note for Guidance on Good Clinical Practice (CPMP/ICH/135/95), and all relevant legislation.
